Common Diseases That Threaten Your Horse

This presentation will review common but potentially deadly diseases that can threaten your horse. The discussion will also include reportable equine diseases in Michigan as well as vaccination programs to help mitigate the risk of these important illnesses.

Speaker Bio

Dr. Morgan graduated from the University of Missouri’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 1983. He became a Diplomate of the American College of Theriogenologists in 1993. He practiced equine medicine for eleven years before joining Bayer Animal Health where he was a Senior Technical Services Veterinarian. Prior to joining Zoetis Dr. Morgan managed the Equine Field Professional Services Team at Fort Dodge Animal Health. He has served as a member of the Board of Directors of the American Association of Equine Practitioners and currently serves on the Research Committee of the American Quarter Horse Association. He is a member of numerous other veterinary organizations. He speaks across the country to veterinary groups on equine reproduction, infectious disease control and prevention strategies, parasite control, antimicrobial use, pain control and sedation in horses. Dr. Morgan joined Zoetis in 2010.
