Wycliffe Brothers 23” Prestige Class Backgammon Set *UNBOXING*

My unboxing and review of a Wycliffe Bros. tournament size (23") 'Prestige Class' backgammon set, shipped to my home in California from GammonVillage in New York, via UPS, with the board arriving six days after purchase. The board retails for $395 and comes in a variety of very nice color combinations. This particular colorway is the same as my alma mater, the University of Oregon (Go Ducks!).

This huge set comes with 1-3/4” (45mm) Nickel-plated checkers with leatherette. Each checker weighs a preposterous 52 grams (1.8 ounces). The green and white checkers complement the green and white points, contrasting with the gorgeous mustard yellow playing surface, made of padded 'V-fiber,' which is likely made of vinyl.

If you're considering a Wycliffe Bros. board, I'd say GO FOR IT! I did not see anything in my initial handling of this board that causes me any concern. For a board of this size, and with the heft and construction of these nickel-plated checkers, the $395 price tag seems very reasonable to me. Wycliffe Bros. also makes a 21" tournament-size board that is both more affordable (est. $265), and has striking color combinations.

The dice the come with this board are average, but the cube is GARGANTUAN! Really fun to play with this board, and I am very satisfied with the initial quality.
