Coach Antonio Lopez Habas declared himself happy with the Clever Boys' performance after the 3-2 victory over Kaizer Chiefs on Friday night. Bidvest Wits entered the Telkom Knockout last 16 match against table-topping Chiefs as the underdogs to progress to the quarterfinals, especially as their previous outright home win against the Soweto giants had been more than nine years ago.However, the Clever Boys raced into a two-goal lead thanks to early strikes from Matthew Pattison and Papy Faty.
Chiefs' in-form strikers Bernard Parker and Lehlohonolo Majoro got their names on the score sheet in the second half, but Wits substitute Letsie Koapeng also found the back of the net to ensure a memorable 3-2 win for the home side at Bidvest Stadium.
