The Jacaranda Club in Liverpool is where The Beatles famous line-up of John, Paul, George, Stuart, and Pete first played in August 1960. New Plaque unveiled.
Having spent a few months with different drummers and even band names, with Hamburg just a couple of days away, Pete Best had joined on the Saturday, and so, on Sunday at the Jacaranda Club, John, Paul, George, Stuart, and Pete held a rehearsal to run through the songs that they knew. This rehearsal turned into an unofficial performance, the very first as The Beatles with this lineup, here at the Jacaranda.
They were finally ready to become a band. The following day, they left the Jacaranda Club and headed to Hamburg, where they spent hundreds of hours on stage, learning how to become a group.
To celebrate this momentous event, a new plaque has been erected at the Jacaranda as a World Origin Site in August 2024.
