Court Ordered to Shut Down Overnight / Abandoned Luxury Hotel / Everything Left Behind

On Friday morning, January 10, 2020, guests at this popular chain hotel were told to pack their suitcases and leave the premises IMMEDIATELY! No warning or heads up.

Imagine being woken up by pounding on your door and told to pack up your belongings and vacate the building immediately. There was no warning and initially no reason why.

Was it be a fire, a health emergency, or even a man with a gun? Nope! It was none of those. Instead, according to a January 2020 article in the towns’ local paper, investigators from the state Department of Revenue Services were at the hotel to shut it down.

Town Manager, Anthony Salvatore told the Press that 50 hotel employees lost their jobs with absolutely no warning whatsoever.

In September 2018, it was reported that a major chlorine leak caused a hazmat incident at the Hotel. The area surrounding the hotel was blocked and more than 100 people were evacuated as first responders dealt with the hazmat situation. Fire officials later said a chlorine leak near the pool prompted the incident.

The hotels’ Sale and Use Tax Permit had been suspended, according to a report which said the state Department of Revenue Services posted the sign to the hotel door and evacuated the building.
