Trying something new!
We are drilling some winter beans! We are drilling them at 230kg per ha which is a slightly higher seed rate than usual as the germination is quite low.
We would usually grow spring beans, but in the recent years they haven’t worked out very well. This is mainly due to our soil type and we struggle to get on the land to get good establishment in the spring time. We like to plant crops in the autumn whilst we can get on to give them the best chance to grow well.
