Update on the crf450l in hopes of finding a solution to the concerning amount of chain slap and vibration. Switching to a 49 tooth sprocket from a 51 tooth sprocket as well as dropping from a 150 rear tire to a 140. Our theory is that the smaller tire will reduce or completely eliminate contact with chain (So far our changes have fixed this situation) and the smaller sprocket will alter the contact of the chain with the chain guides. Finally switching from a non-Oring chain to a Oring chain even though the width is slightly wider than a non-Oring. We will see better life out of the chain and seems to have less play back and forth on the bike.
Update
The new setup has completely eliminated our problems/concerns. Bike has zero chain slap and does not hit the tire. The wear is normal now and has good life. I highly recommend this setup for someone looking for a reliable and playful crf450l supermoto setup. 140 rear tire is taller but handles very well.
