Lully's "Exaudiat te Dominus" & More!

From the Washington Bach Consort’s recent Director’s Series program of Sacred Grand Motets by Lully and Charpentier, we will be offering excerpts from a number of works. While these pieces are rarely heard live, Lully's, Exaudiat te Dominus is among his more popular examples in the genre. Soloists include Margaret Carpenter Haigh and Margot Rood, Dessus; James Reese, Haute-contre; Jacob Perry, Taille; Ross Tamaccio, Basse-taille; Ian Pomerantz, Basse. Preceding the motet is a fanfare from scene 10 of Lully’s opera, Thesee, “Entrée des Combattants."
