First Look: The New Waka Glide Mid-Length Folding Foil Board

We're Waka, a US-based startup with Kiwi roots, and we're excited to share something truly different in the water-sports world. While the big brands have been doing their thing with similar designs, we've been working on something special - a board that really changes the game in both performance and portability.

The Waka Glide is is a single quiver board. It's a high-performance, all-carbon mid-length design that handles all wind conditions, plus it folds in half! Our patent-pending folding technology only adds about 1kg to the board, keeping it right in line with other production carbon boards weight-wise. And here's the cool part - that little extra weight sits right in the middle of the board, so you won't feel any difference in handling.

Think about this - you can fit two 7-foot boards in a regular car trunk. No more roof racks or rental van upgrades! Whether you're flying, boating, or living in a cozy city apartment, storage and transportation just got a whole lot easier.

We've spent the last two years perfecting this design, putting it through its paces in Hood River, New Zealand, and La Ventana Mexico. The result is a beautiful board with a high-performance hull and finish quality we're really proud of. We are also including a premium insulated day bag and toolkit to give you the complete portability package.

For those serious about travel, we've also created the Rolling Waka - a heavy-duty roller bag that fits your board, foils, and wings. It's pretty sweet, and we'll show you all the details in an upcoming video.

Our first production run will include the Waka Glide in 55L, 66L, 77L, 88L, 99L, and 111L sizes. We're already working on some exciting high-volume downwind boards for the future. But heads up - quantities will be limited in this first batch, so pre-ordering is your best bet.
