1ST INNINGS PREVIEW:
Earlier in the evening, Pakistan won the toss and decided to field first. Brian Bennett and Tadiwanashe Marumani rode their luck and got the team off to a good start, adding 59 in the powerplay and racing to 72 in just 8 overs. Once Mohammad Nawaz got rid of Marumani on a juicy full toss for a 22-ball 30, Zimbabwe lost their way completely.

The experienced middle order failed to turn up, with the likes of Brendan Taylor and Ryan Burl failing to pick up the variations of the spinners, as well as failing to run neatly between the wickets. Bennett (49 off 36) was unlucky to fall one short of a half-century. The lower middle fell like a pack of cards and lost their way post drinks. Raza (34* off 24) somewhat steadied the ship after seeing his batting partners throw away their wickets.

For Pakistan, Nawaz was brilliant in his 4-over spell, finishing with 2/22. Abrar Ahmed ended with 1/28, while Saim Ayub got 1/31. Shaheen Afridi went for 12 in the last over and finished with 1/34. Salman Mirza was unlucky in his first spell, but ended with 1/21 in his 3 overs. Faheem Ashraf went for runs in his only over. Pakistan were excellent on the field and got a couple of run-outs.
