Arctic shaman Jungle Svonni explains his journey from the far north of Sápmi to the Amazon rainforest — one of the last places where ancient knowledge is still preserved.
After spending years alone in the mountains, living on hunting and fishing, he developed a deep spiritual connection with “the snow and ice and the wind and the animals.”
But to go further, he needed elders who still carried the full knowledge. In Sápmi, that tradition had been lost — so he travelled to the Amazon, where he found living wisdom and teachers.
There he learned that:
• natural laws are the same everywhere on Earth
• plant and mountain spirits never die — only the knowledge to connect to them disappears
• and that modern humanity has become a “prototype of humans,” disconnected from nature and from ourselves
He believes the only way forward — environmentally and socially — is for humanity to “collectively raise our vibration” and evolve spiritually.
Yet he is hopeful: interest in sustainability, meditation, shamanism and spiritual practices is growing rapidly, and the internet helps spread ideas and reconnect people.
If you’re curious about indigenous perspectives, spiritual ecology or humanity’s relationship with nature, this interview is a powerful reminder of what we’ve forgotten — and what we can still reclaim.
