2 ct Cushion cut Diamond Ring with micro pavé sides

In this video jeweller and diamond setter Niels van Dooren setting beautifully white diamonds in a white gold solitair ring. The center stone is a 2.00 ct cushion of very high quality and clarity. The micro pavé diamonds are ranging 0.90 mm to 2.00 mm and are all ideal cut with clarity VVSI and colour F/G.

The diamonds are gently placed in the sides of the ring. First the metal is removed with a cylindrical burr going up to a round burr to create a soft edge. Also a carbide graver was used which was special polished to cut in a curve with a 60 degree angle. This creates the seat for the diamond and leaves over a tiny prong which holds the micro pavé diamonds into place. With a tiny prong pusher the white golden prongs are bent over the diamonds thereby holding tightly different size white diamonds in their seat.

The ring was later polished with high gloss diamond polish.

I can honestly say that the piece turned out astonishing.
