Believing Shiva would never have an heir, Tarakasura wreaked havoc across the three realms, until a miracle unfolded and stopped him.

In the previous part, when Shiva’s third eye turned Kamadeva - the God of Love, to ashes, Rati’s curse fell upon Shiva and Parvati – that they would never bear a child in the usual way . This curse made the birth of Kartikeya (Skanda) all the more miraculous.

In the sacred Shravan month – a time when millions of devotees celebrate Lord Shiva, this story of Shiva’s past and the events leading up to Kartikeya’s birth gains special significance. Devotees often reflect on such legends during Sawan, making this a timely retelling.
