Rush hour at the café means every second counts — but today, I ran into a coffee hiccup that threw me off. In the middle of an eight-coffee phone order, my espresso shots suddenly started running too fast… way off the usual timing.
After adjusting the grinder and tasting, I realized the flavour had shifted — brighter, lighter, and missing that nutty, chocolatey body I usually expect. Turns out, fresh beans were the culprit! Someone had mixed a new roast with older beans, and the younger batch wasn’t aged enough.
