"Digimon World" is a video game originally released in 1999 for the PlayStation console. The game combines elements of a virtual pet simulation and a role-playing game, set in the fictional world of File City. In this game, players take on the role of a young protagonist who is transported to the Digital World to save it from an impending threat.

The story begins as the main character arrives in the Digital World and discovers that the Digimon (digital monsters) are no longer functioning properly.
