Risk assessment lies at the heart of any form of risk management; and one of the most powerful of these techniques is the bowtie method. Its strength is that it goes beyond the usual risk assessment ‘snapshot’ and highlights the links between controls, assurance and verification activities, and the underlying management system - a valuable trait when assessing the evolving risk as a facility moves through life.
This webinar demonstrates how bowtie analysis can be used, in combination with a wider risk management framework, to manage and monitor changes to the risk profile of a facility brought about by evolutions in the design or operating conditions, lapsed inspection and maintenance, or outdated operating procedures (amongst others). We will touch upon how bowtie analysis can feed into a defined barrier management process, including use of a KPI dashboard to display and monitor performance though life.
