96 Hours in Vancouver - My Long Weekend in Vancouver!
I spent (American) Thanksgiving weekend in Vancouver, Canada. If you're looking for things to do in Vancouver, this video showcases my experience.
My friend Judy and I were invited to a wedding in Vancouver. Determined to make the most out of it, we also planned on making it into a vacation. Vancouver is an incredible city and we ending up having quite the adventure.
This was my first time to visit Vancouver. Coming from Southern California, I was excited to get seasons. Although the weather in Vancouver is apparently pretty lousy most of the time, I really enjoyed the cool fall season. It was cold, but all the trees were red and orange, which you don’t see too often living in LA.

Vancouver Vacation
As I said, we wanted to make the most out of our Vancouver vacation, so we planned out all the activities we wanted to do. But some of that was just relaxing in coffee shops and bars. Vancouver is a big city, and it has a lot of cool places to just stop, sit, and enjoy the environment. Plus it’s vacation. Part of vacation always has to be relaxing.
Vancouver Sightseeing and Activities
We had 3 days for sightseeing and activities. In addition to seeing all the cool things in the city, we also wanted to explore a bit of the area outside of the city. Having both made the vacation better: city + nature. When we got there we literally just looked up things to do in Vancouver online and found all the big and also smaller attractions. These were some of my favorite Vancouver sights and activities:
Capilano Suspension Bridge: It’s a nice nature park with lit up tree houses and walkways, and a giant suspension bridge over the Capilano River.
Granville Island: Take a boat taxi to an island full of shops and restaurants while looking at all the skyscrapers across the water.
Any of the parks! Vacouver has well taken care of parks perfect for running, walking, and relaxing next to the water.
Coal Harbour – Great view of the harbor and it also has the Vancouver Olympic torch/cauldron there.
Deep Cove – This is a nice little town not too far from the city. It’s quiet and has an incredible view of the harbor. There’s also a ski resort nearby if you have time to drive up the mountain.
Check out the bridges, statues, and the steam clock in Vancouver too!
There are plenty of things to do in Vancouver and the surrounding area so make sure you plan out your sightseeing spots and activities.
If you’re planning to visit Vancouver I highly recommend it. I went in the fall but I imagine the summer would be nice too. The whole city is on the water and it has beaches too. I’d love to make a Vancouver vacation in the summer!
Vancouver Travel
Getting around Vancouver is very easy. In fact, we walked to most places. They also have buses, a few rail lines, and boat taxis! Even sea planes (if spending money is your thing). Also, like most airports, The Vancouver airport is outside of the city and then you have to travel in to get to all the attractions.
Anyway, I hope this information helps. That was our weekend in Vancouver adventure. I hope you enjoyed the video.
