An evening of spotting at Castleford Station on 26th September 2025.
My main reason for my visit was because two different Steam engines were due through within 15 minutes of each other. The first one to come through was LMS Black 5 44871 which was on a light engine move to York NRM in preparation for the Rail 200 charter to Stanhope the following day, and the second was 60532 'Blue Peter' on the return leg of the White Rose tour from York to Hereford.
Other than the two steamers is a freight train hauled by a Class 66, and the usual TPE and Northern commuter services.
Trains featured:
Northern Class 150s & 158s
TransPennine Express Class 185s
DB Class 66 in EWS livery
LMS Black 5 44871
LSL 60532 'Blue Peter' & 57311
