Dr. Edward Richtofen frees his test subject Tank Dempsey, Takeo Masaki and Nikolai Belinski to escape from the Der Rise facility after an undead outbreak. Due to the combination fo their souls into the Elemental Shard the four are bound together throughout the mulitverse, now called Ultimis! Together they Travel to the Rising Sun Facility aka Shi no Numa to retrieve Richtofens diary. With the help of it Richtofen could learn how to defeat Samantha.
