Bilat, Oct. 18:– The 23rd Odam Ering Memorial Football Tournament 2025 concluded in a grand manner yesterday at the Er Tameng Jamoh Football Ground, Bilat Bamin. The prestigious tournament, organized by the Bilat Bamin Sports Association (BBSA) under the aegis of the District Football Association, East Siang, commenced on October 3 and witnessed enthusiastic participation and community support throughout its duration.

The Chief Guest, Dr. Yater Ringu Darang, Medical Superintendent, BPGHP, graced the closing ceremony, accompanied by Shri Ninong Ering, MLA of the 37th West Pasighat Constituency and Chief Patron of the tournament. The event also saw the presence of several dignitaries including ZPMs, public leaders, and local sports enthusiasts.

In an exciting final match, Rani Football Team (FT) triumphed over Ledum FT with an impressive 4–1 victory, clinching the championship title. The winning team received a cash prize of Rs 1.5 lakh along with a championship trophy, while the runner-up team, Ledum FT, was awarded Rs 75,000 and a trophy.

Chief Patron Shri Ninong Ering congratulated the organizing committee, especially Shri Kaling Pango, Chief Patron of BBSA, and Shri Tanong Taloh, President of BBSA, for conducting the tournament successfully and upholding the spirit of sportsmanship. He lauded their efforts for promoting football at the grassroots level and spreading a positive message of unity and youth engagement through sports.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Yater Ringu Darang highlighted the importance of sports in shaping discipline, teamwork, and health among youth. She encouraged young players to utilize such platforms to display their talents and aim for higher achievements in the field of sports.

The first prize was sponsored by the Chief Guest, while the second prize was sponsored by ZPM Smt. Anung Gammeng of Ruksin-Rayang. Other individual awards and sponsorships were generously contributed by Er. Oling Taloh (EE, PHED Yingkiong), Smt. Yaken Jerang (ZPM Mirem), Smt. Olik Taloh (ZPM Ledum Bilat), Smt. Aroni Jamoh (ZPM Ngorlung Ralung), and Shri Bimal Lego (ZPM Sille Oyan).

The closing ceremony also witnessed the presence of Shri Tadi Jonnm, Mandal President (37th West Pasighat), and former ZPM Shri Tonggeng Panyang, among other guests. The event concluded with a vote of thanks and a pledge to continue promoting sportsmanship and community spirit through such tournaments.
