Hermes Trismegistus is a legendary Hellenistic period figure that originated as a syncretic combination of the Greek god Hermes and the Egyptian god Thoth.

As taught in The Kybalion - Three Initiates

His 7 principles are as follows:

Mentalism:
"The All is Mind; The Universe is Mental". This principle suggests that everything in the universe, including our reality, originates from a universal mind.

Correspondence:

Rhythm:
"Everything flows out and in; everything has its tides; all things rise and fall; the pendulum swing manifests in everything; the motion of the swing manifests in everything". This principle describes the universal rhythm or cyclical nature of all things, where everything rises and falls, flows in and out, and follows a natural rhythm.

Cause and Effect:
"Every cause has its effect; every effect has its cause; this is the law of cause and effect". This principle states that every action has a consequence, and that everything is the result of a previous cause, creating a chain of cause and effect.

Gender:
"Gender is everything; everything has its masculine and feminine principles; Gender manifests on all planes". This principle acknowledges the presence of both masculine and feminine principles in all things, from the natural world to human experience, and that these principles are essential for creation and manifestation.
