Colorful Clouds Chasing The Moon - Tao Garden Blessing Ceremony, 24 August 2025

The music ensemble performing is Flute Cocktail, from Metro Detroit, Michigan. The song is a Chinese folk song titled, Colorful Clouds Chasing the Moon. It was written in 1935 by Ren Guang for a Chinese music ensemble.

On Aug 24, 2025, we’ve gathered here today to express our sincere gratitude to those who made this project possible, to bless this community garden, and to share the essence of Tao.

We’d like to acknowledge the donors who through their kindness and generosity made this garden possible:

Jerry Wu Commercial Architect – designed the garden and created detailed construction plans.
Eugene Danquah – Was the very first person who answered our call for financial support and made a generous monetary donation that was used to purchase lumber.
Site One - graciously provided soil, and the landscape fabric that is beneath each planter.
Farmer John’s – Generously donated a gift card which will be used to purchase garden supplies.
Fendt Builders Supply – Will soon deliver beautiful stone garden benches which will not only greatly enhance the garden’s beauty but also provide a means to rest and relax.
Tractor Supply Canton – Graciously donated a gift card which was used to purchase child-size garden tools and seed starting materials.
Northville Lumber – Kindly provided lumber and other building materials at a discounted price.

Three donors who asked to remain anonymous made substantial monetary donations which went toward building materials and will provide for plant material, long-term maintenance and upgrades.

Temple members and staff - worked behind the scenes on project management, community outreach, securing materials and outside contractors, preparing meals, and site preparation.

Charles Drew Transition Center Staff and Students
Located within the Detroit Public School System the school supports students 18-26 years old with a range of special needs, including cognitive, visual, hearing, physical impairments, and autism. The school provides vocational and daily living skills to help them to become productive citizens with the skills to enhance their quality of life.
Under the guidance and support from their teachers, Mr. Mark Knight and Mike Domzalski the students in the school’s carpentry class labored tirelessly from April through August to build the planters and fence panels. Due to the size of the fencing the operation had to move outdoors where students and staff worked daily in the scorching heat, and oppressive humidity with determination and without complaint.

On behalf of Zhong Shu Temple and the community we would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering commitment, dedication, and hard work to bring our vision, over 10 years in the making, to fruition.

在 2025 年 8 月 24 日這一天，我們齊聚於此，誠摯地向成就這項計畫的眾人表達感謝，為這座社區有機花/菜園祈福，並分享道的真諦。

這所隸屬於底特律公立學校系統的學校，服務 18 至 26 歲有各種特殊需求的學生，包括認知、視覺、聽覺、身體障礙及自閉症。學校透過職業訓練與日常生活技能的培養，幫助他們成為有能力提升生活品質的公民。

在教師 Mark Knight 與 Mike Domzalski 的指導下，木工課的學生們從 4 月到 8 月持續不懈地建造花槽與圍欄。由於圍欄尺寸過大，施工必須移至戶外，師生們頂著炎熱酷暑與高濕度，日復一日地堅持，毫無怨言。
