Every second Saturday in May, the world gets a little more magical, because it’s Black Fae Day! Born in 2021 from the imagination of Jasmine La Fleur, this day was created to bring visibility and celebration to Black folks in fantasy, because we belong in every corner of imagination, too.

What started as a social media movement has now grown wings, literally and figuratively, blossoming into a global celebration of Black creativity, storytelling, and joy. In cities like Mobile, Alabama, Black Fae Day gatherings are a colorful blend of art, culture, and community, where we show up in our finest fantasy looks, share our stories, and reimagine the worlds we’ve always deserved to be part of.
