Another fantastic question from you guys. How do you know if you’re learning your moves right?
By now, you probably know that there’s no one right way of learning or doing things. This isn't a non-answer, it is just the first part of what I have to share.
There are multiple ways to learn a similar move or technique.
I want to introduce to you my friend, best practices.
Best practices are what you need to take away whenever you learn something. And it comes with practice itself. Think of it as your standard operating procedure – the things you need to have in order to make something work.
Best practices can form the guidelines for how to execute something to your desires. For example, let’s look at the rollback into an air freeze. Two best practices here: 1. Keep your legs tucked or straight at all times, especially during the rollback itself. 2. Don’t arch your back outwards, especially when you are rolling up into an air freeze.
These will help you learn the move better. BUT you need to explore them for yourself. Find out what works (after a substantial amount of deliberate effort). If it doesn’t, then you continue exploring and pick something else.
