Viji Thambi and Evershine Pictures return to the big screen with an Ayyappa story

Kochi (17.11.25):
After a long break, super-hit film producer Evershine Pictures and director Viji Thambi are returning to the silver screen. Their comeback film, titled “Swamiye Saranam Ayyappa”, narrates the true history of Lord Ayyappa. This marks the return of the director-producer duo known for several blockbuster hits.

Ayyappa stories have reached the silver screen in many forms over the years. However, unlike previous attempts, this film is based on the ancient Sanskrit text “Shribhoothanatha Upakhyanam”, regarded by scholars as the most authentic and outstanding scripture narrating the life of Lord Ayyappa. The film is being crafted using the support of A.I. (Artificial Intelligence) technology, director Viji Thambi revealed. The film is scheduled for release in 2026.

Vishnu Varadhan is writing the screenplay and dialogues for the film.
