Discovering the World Wide Web (1995) The Internet Revealed Series

Tape 4 of The Internet Revealed offers a unique glimpse into K-12 schools first embrace of educational technology. Produced by Classroom Connect, a 1994 .com start up based in Lancaster, PA (and later Foster City, CA), the tape instructs students and teachers in the limitless educational possibilities of this new thing called "The Web," explaining in detail how the Information Superhighway works, and giving schools an easy on-ramp to cyberspace.

This video gave many middle and high school students their first peek at the inner-workings of the fledgling Internet, which was dominated at the time by gopher, telnet, ftp. A newcomer -- the WWW or World Wide Web -- was just entering the scene thanks to a new piece of software called Netscape.
