Nintendo just revealed its 2025 Black Friday lineup, and it’s limited. In this video I break down every first-party deal, call out the true winners and the mid, compare it to last year’s sale, and share smart ways to save (including when buying used actually beats “new on sale”).

Confirmed prices from Nintendo’s promo
• $40 - Donkey Kong Country Returns HD, Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe, Luigi’s Mansion 3, Princess Peach: Showtime!, The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom
• $30 - Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Splatoon 3, Super Mario Odyssey, Nintendo Switch Sports

Amiibo / cards
• Street Fighter 6 (Jamie, Kimberly, Luke) - $30
• Zelda TOTK set (Riju, Sidon, Tulin, Yunobo) - $20
• Accessory: MicroSD Express 256GB - $40 (the only notable accessory deal I could find)

My take
TTYD at $30 is the standout (rarely dips even used). Odyssey at $30 is solid, if overdue. Several $40 picks can be found cheaper pre-owned. Compared to 2024 (when Tears of the Kingdom hit $50 and more games were discounted), this year’s list feels thin, especially with Switch 2 now out and a giant back catalog that’s 8–9 years old in places.

Why Nintendo rarely discounts
Nintendo tends to hold MSRP longer, banking on evergreen demand and avoiding buyer remorse for early adopters. That’s a business choice, but it pushes budget-minded players toward the used market or to third-party Black Friday sales on other platforms.

Money-saving tips
• Check trusted sellers on eBay for first-party titles (Luigi’s Mansion 3 often around $35 shipped).
• Watch retailer-specific Black Friday ads the week before the holiday. Amazon, Best Buy, Target, and Walmart sometimes add their own markdowns.
• Choose physical over digital if you want resale value.
