Yorkshire Children's Charity - A Gift To Be Able To Give

Last year, after receiving winter support from Yorkshire Children’s Charity, we had one dad - a single parent - who called us in tears.

He said he could not believe that there are people out there who take the time to look out for those who, for whatever reason, are just not able to cope for themselves. He told us the support they had received had stopped them from 'going under' as a family.

That dad was Johnny.

The families we support often live their lives somewhere between fight and flight, facing one crisis after another. Working parents who despite trying their best, are finding that their best just simply isn’t enough. Or parents raising a child with disabilities, who are, by fact, more likely to experience poverty than those without. 

Johnny’s story is a powerful reminder of just how fragile life can be.

At Yorkshire Children's Charity, we have committed to helping every child that was put forward to us as being in critical need of winter support this year. We did this because it was the right and humane thing to do. However, we made this commitment without having raised the funds to do so and are now facing a £114,000 shortfall.

Please do not underestimate the difference you can make to the lives of others.
