In this video I shall talk about new initiatives for diagnosis of TB under RNTCP based on new guidelines. CBNAAT or Genexpert has been introduced for diagnosis of TB particularly drug resistant TB. The turnover time for CBNAAT is 2 hours. Indications for CBNAAT are PLHIV, Paediatric case, extrapulmonary TB sites, non responders of TB treatment, previously treated TB cases, Drug resistant TB contacts, TB HIV coinfection.
