Alicja Wysocka: Interview – A Mix of Meditation and Idleness | DOUBLE FEATURE | SCHIRN

Five women in their prime sit in an oversized porcelain cup, which in turn fits on a giant saucer. Alicja Wysocka’s “Untitled (Nothing Happens)” shows nothing and everything at the same time, inviting us to get lost in the habitus and spirit of the protagonists, while both the interaction of the women and the dynamics within the group seem to come to the fore.

In the interview with DOUBLE FEATURE curator Cornelia Eisendle, film artist Alicja Wysocka gives an insight into her video work "Untitled (Nothing Happens)" and her cinematic interests.

Fünf Frauen im besten Alter sitzen in einer überdimensionalen Porzellantasse, die ihrerseits auf einer riesigen Untertasse Platz findet. Alicja Wysockas „Untitled (Nothing Happens)“ zeigt gleichermaßen nichts und alles, lädt ein, sich im Habitus und Gemüt der Protagonistinnen zu verlieren, während sowohl die Interaktion der Frauen miteinander als auch die Dynamik innerhalb der Gruppe wie von selbst in den Vordergrund rücken.
