This is was the longest production run and most sold 1/2" drill from skilsaw, or skil tools. it is a nice drill but it was still a mid tier grade and they wanted a lot more money for the super duty 1/2" drill at which point you could get a Milwaukee/porter-cable/black & decker HD/etc drills which were better.
The big issue here is a a motor that is a bit under powered at 4.5 Amps and it only used a double reduction gearset for a low speed drill meaning the gears have more stress then a triple reduction and will wear out faster.
