All buildings are square except the Donjon Tower, which has a polygonal base and a cylindrical top, thus the name "Hat Tower."
The region of Golubac is renowned for its diverse and quality fish, with the Danube River and certain parts of the Djerdap Gorge being especially remarkable. Hunting and fishing are popular activities that symbolise Golubac and its surroundings.
