Despite that carnage, some men, a select few who thrived in combat and had earned a reputation for courage, skill and determination under fire, would rise to prominence. At the very top of that list, stood one man, who lived a life so unbelievable that had it could have been written for Hollywood. In fact, it was so unbelievable that it was written for Hollywood, with the hero of the movie being the man himself. In this video, using eyewitness testimony, on the ground footage and official military records we explore the incredible wartime accomplishments, life, and tragic demise of perhaps the greatest soldier in the history of modern warfare. This is the story of Audie Murphy.
