BNSF's route through the Arbuckles of South Central Oklahoma parallels the Washita River through Big Canyon, a canyon and quarry just north of Ardmore. Every May, Dolese Bros, the owners and operators of the quarry, hosts railfans for a weekend of catching trains on the Red Rock Sub along the scenic river.
This is Part 1, where we stay trackside the whole day. In Part 2, Dolese actually let us film them loading a BNSF rock train, and I got my drone working again. Part 2 will release at the beginning of 2026.
