[Nioh 2] Ultimate Stats overview

I was trying to figure some stuff out, but a brief search online had proven rather unfruitful to say the least. Decent information for this game series are far and few between, drowned out by a lot of noise. So I decided to test some stuff out if only for my own convenience. Exact numbers are not my concern, just wanna get a general idea of the differences with and without the Ultimate Stats.

To save some space, any reference to the Ultimate Stats in this video description will just be stylised as such: [HEART] for Ultimate Heart, [SKILL] for Ultimate Skill, etc.

These are ordered in such a way so that the least interesting ones to showcase are dumped at the back of the video. Probably not a good idea, we'll see.

[STRENGTH] 00:03
Allows ki pulse on block with all weapons, not just blessed weapons. Meanwhile blessed weapons recover more ki via block ki pulse. Some patch since added extra ki damage dealt. Releasing the constraint for block ki pulse makes the overall gameplay much more consistent, but it's significance is kinda diminished since the mechanical advantage this provides can be gained by just wielding a blessed weapon.

[SKILL] 01:32
It used to have to do with only dodge ki pulse. Some patch since changed it to allow the stance specific perfect ki pulse buff to activate even with imperfect ki pulse. These are really short lived buffs, so casually getting more instances of these could make for interesting combo paths. There's also this bit about added invulnerability frames on dodge ki pulse, but not something I bother to test out.

[HEART] 02:55
More ki recovered via ki flux. Not very interesting otherwise. Recording combat demo for this is kinda moot since it's just regular gameplay with better ki economy.

[COURAGE] 03:42
Less ki consumption when attacking, and stronger resistance to some or all that hinders ki recovery. Given the focus of the game, this feels like a must have.

[STAMINA] - Agility AA (20% equipment burden or less) 04:30
Increased mobility: faster running speed, larger distance covered by dodges, less ki consumption via dodging and dashing (and maybe some other stuff). AA Agility seems to have been well documented already, so I'll only briefly cover this.

[STAMINA] - Toughness AA (350 toughness or more) 04:57
Increased sturdiness: less ki damage taken on hit and on block (and maybe some other stuff). In my current initial tests, I can't see any perceivable differences with regard to being staggered with my 351 toughness set.

[CONSTITUTION] 05:19
Constant healing when above 70% HP. Works better when paired with other sources of passive healing such as amrita absorption or auto recovery, but not so much just by itself.

[DEXTERITY] and [MAGIC] 05:49
These two are grouped together in the same section as they behave the same way. Basically Mystic Dyad for Ninjutsu and Onmyo respectively.

Recorded mostly in patch 1.22, some are in 1.23. Although there is no mention to changes to Ultimate Stats between these 2 patches.
