The death of a Grade 10 pupil at Tsakane Secondary School in Ekurhuleni is under investigation. It's alleged that the pupil was beaten by a teacher and dropped off at home where he succumbed to his injuries. Today, Gauteng Education MEC Panyaza Lesufi is visiting the pupil's family and the school.
At the same time, officials from the department have expressed concerns over the shutdown of schools in the area. SABC News Reporter Mahlako Komane is tracking this story.
