Russian forces claim 'successful airstrike' on Ukrainian base in Kyiv

RUSSIAN forces claim to have 'successfully destroyed' a Ukrainian military base in the capital of Kyiv.

The Russian army said on Sunday it knocked down a Ukrainian military equipment base on the outskirts of Kiev, with the Ukrainian side saying it had pushed back Russian troops several times in Donetsk and Luhansk.

Major General Igor Konashenkov, spokesman for Russian Ministry of Defense, said in Sunday's daily brief that the Russian army used high-precision long-range missiles to destroy tanks and other weaponry that were offered by other countries. He added that Russian air defense forces had shot down a Ukrainian military cargo aircraft carrying weapons near Odessa.
