I've recently had a problem with my rear passenger side window. It would go down, but not up. So I took everything apart to find the problem.
It seems that the upper plastic area which goes over the metal part of the wire breaks, letting the window loose when going up.
Solution:
1. buy a repair kit for the window which has the problem. In the kit comes, among other bits, the clamp which holds the window
2. get rid of the old one(goes out quite easy)
3. start mounting the new clamp as follows: go with it from right to left(on the metal runner). One part goes directly on the runner(left side) while the right side goes sideway on the metal runner. Be careful to prise the 2 plastic bits(right side) in order to let the assembly go fully on the runner
4. with the assembly in place, on the lower part of the clamp there is a tiny plastic L shape which stands on the wire. Wiggle the wire to go over the L shaped plastic bit
5. assembly everything on the door and connect the plug
6. Keep the window screws a bit loose(but not too loose) first time in order for them to catch the window in the correct place
7. tighten the screws, retest the whole assembly and if all is ok, the window should go up and down like any window
Hope it helps :)
