I found this awesome thing in the metal recycling yard a while ago and just had to try and make it work again.
Pneumatic cylinders evolved from ancient air-powered toys (Hero of Alexandria, 1st Century AD) and bellows (Bronze Age) through 19th-century innovations like compound air compressors (1829) and pneumatic tubes (1870s) for transport, gaining industrial significance with water-jacketed cylinders (1872) and pneumatic tools (drills, hammers) during the Industrial Revolution, eventually leading to modern digital automation in the late 20th century.
