Supplementary videos from the paper "Linking plasma formation in grapes to microwave resonances of aqueous dimers" authored by Hamza K. Khattak, Pablo Bianucci, and Aaron D. Slepkov, published in PNAS https://doi.org/10.1073/pnas.1818350116
Movie S1. Video of plasma created by irradiation of grape hemispheres in a commercial microwave oven in the traditional manner.
Movie S2. Video of plasma created by irradiation in a commercial microwave oven of whole (uncut) grapes forming a dimer on a watch glass.
Movie S3. Video of plasma created by irradiation in a commercial microwave oven of hydrogel beads forming a dimer on a watch glass. The beads were first hydrated in de-ionized water and then soaked in a weak NaCl brine for one minute before filming.
Movie S4. High-speed video of grape dimer and hydrogel dimer irradiated in a commercial microwave oven, both igniting plasma and undergoing mechanical oscillations. Grape dimer filmed at 1000 fps; hydrogel dimer filmed at 2000 fps.
Movie S5. Live thermal imaging of large and small individual water beads (0:16-1:10), and a water bead dimer (1:15-2:15) during microwave irradiation.
