"If you want to get further south from the Albanian town of Vlora, the Ionian Sea is cut into steep cliffs and you have to go around the coast via Mount Llogara. Suddenly you are in another world, the mountains resound with the plaintive song of shepherds and the mountain towers in its grandeur and majesty. Remembering what I heard there, I wrote the piece "Valija e malit". The composition has two parts, Ballata and Danza, as is customary in Albanian folk music."
