⛩ Spirited Away's Dormitory - 1 Hour - Ghibli ASMR Soundscape

Spirited Away, my all-time favorite movie.
The drawings are magnificent, the music is inspiring, the story is beautiful and adorable, taking us into another world, the characters are once again much more complex than they seem, tinged with nuances, and the train scene is... breathtaking. What more can I say when it's a perfect masterpiece?

What I like most in this movie, besides all these reasons, is also the development of relationships and characters. Lin and Chihiro among others.
Lin doesn't like Chihiro at the beginning, then she finally gets attached to her, even if she is only "human".
I think this evolution perfectly illustrates the encounters you make throughout your life. How many times did we get the wrong idea about someone, before realizing we were totally wrong?

But I especially want to make a special mention to the No-face. The evolution of this character is fascinating.
First attracting compassion, pity, then turning into a greedy monster wanting to devour everything in its path, and finally returning to its original appearance once it has all vomited.
I interpret this character as the perfect example of our own greed, fuelled by a society of overconsumption. The fact that he is a No-face, means that he can interpret anyone, be anyone, be you or be me.
We aspire to earn money, and then once we earn some, we always want more, to buy even more, eternally dissatisfied and craving for more.
But once we get rid of these things, the material, we remember that it exists much simpler and more important. And that we also can be very happy to aspire to a simple life, without artifices. As suggested by the No-face, ending in Zeniba's remote little house.
I think it's an important lesson in life that we all end up passing by sooner or later. Money is not the miracle cure for our misfortune. We alone have the power and the capacity to be happy.
And this movie reminds me of that when I need it, and I am myself blinded.

I have so much to say about this movie again. . . but let's stop here for once. Maybe I'll continue in a next soundscape from this movie ;)
