EP 3 Madhubani to Janakpur | Ahilya sthan, Uchhaith Bhagwati, Phulhar to Janakpur- Nepal

After spending two days in Madhubani, we proceeded towards Ahilya sthan and then on on way to Janakpur we visited couple of temples like Uchhaith Bhagwati & Phulhar ( This is the place where Lord Rama met Sita Mata for the firsts time)

Details of the journey:

Ahilya Sthan - 35 km from Madhubani, Priest of the this temple is a women only.

Ahilya Sthan is the place where the ashram of Maharishi Gautama stood.
The temple was built between 1662 and 1682 during the rule of Maharaja Chhatra Singh and Maharaja Rudra Singh.

Ram Janaki Temple - After this, we had Darshan of Shri Ram & Janaki Ji at the temple, It’s told by the Pandit ji that this temple is 450 years old.

Gautam Rishi Ji Kund - We traveled around 2 km from the Ahilya Sthan & reached Maharishi Gautam ji’s Kund and had darshan of it.

Uchhaith Bhagwati - After this we travelled around 45 minutes from the Kund & reached at Uchhaith & we visited the Gurukul where The great Poet Kalidas Ji was blessed with knowledge by Maa Durga.

Lunch - After this, we had Lunch, & Mr. Randheer Ji prepared lunch for us from their home. We enjoyed the lunch so much, It was great in taste.

Maa Bhagwati Temple - After lunch we visited the Maa Bhagwati Temple, Uchchaith & had the darshan of Maa Bhagwati. This temple is counted among the Shakti Peeth. Uchhhaith Bhagwati temple is about 500 meters from the Gurukul where The Great Poet Kalidas used to study.

According to history, the poet Kalidasa was blessed with all knowledge by Maa Durga at this temple, she was impressed by his devotion and dedication. Due to the blessings of Goddess Durga, Kalidasa became a great poet and author of many books and literature and became the national poet of India.

Phulhar - After this, we visited the place where Lord Rama and Goddess Sita first time met. It was a flower garden of King Janaka of Mithila.

A very famous temple of Goddess Bhagwati known as Girija Sthan is situated here. We had Darshan of the Girija Mata Ji here.

India-Nepal Border Jathi - Then we reached at the India-Nepal border to enter Janakpur.

Here if you want to enter Janakpur you have to pay the Tax for the Vehicle

For Car - Rs 600 Per day
Motar Cycle - Rs 200 Per day

You dont need Visa to enter in Nepal, you can enter the Nepal Border by just showing your Aadhar Card only.

Hotel in Janakpur - After this we reached our Hotel in Janakpur - Hotel Sita Sharan & ended our day.

Tariff - Rs 2500 for double occupancy
