Il Faro è situato a Capo Caccia, un promontorio roccioso sulla costa Nord Occidentale della Sardegna che protegge la baia di Porto Conte. La falesia sottostante il faro, si trova proprio al di sopra delle famose Grotte di Nettuno, un trionfo di stalattiti e stalagmiti, raggiungibile via mare o a mezzo di un’interminabile a scalinata di 654 gradini, la “Escala del Cabirol” (La scala del capriolo). Il Faro, nato nel 1864, a 186 mt. s.l.m., (secondo faro più alto d'Italia, e visibile per 34 miglia nautiche, è zona militare, e perciò chiuso al pubblico. E' visitabile solo in determinate occasioni.

The lighthouse is located in Capo Caccia, a rocky promontory on the north-western coast of Sardinia that protects the bay of Porto Conte. The cliff below the lighthouse is located just above the famous Caves of Neptune, a triumph of stalactites and stalagmites, reachable by sea or through an endless stairway of 654 steps, the "Escala del Cabirol" (The staircase of venison). The lighthouse, born in 1864, at 186 mt. s.l.m., (second highest lighthouse in Italy, visible for 34 nautical miles, is a military zone, and therefore closed to the public. It can be visited only on certain occasions.
