A pair of nunchaks are made from a piece of branch that was part of a drying rack. This is part of Dominic Bender’s Challenge Tree: to build something no taller than me, and no heavier than I can carry. This video is produced in the “style” of Les Stroud’s Survivor Man.

My first pair of nunchakus from an old broom handle, some tape, a piece of telephone wire. This is the latest design of a pair of real functional nunchakus. Unlike stage nunchakus that are hollow and light there by producing speed and when hit by stage nunchuks it doesn’t hurt like these. The main body of the nunchaks was turned on a lathe, although a lathe is unnecessary to make nunchaks, it is a nice luxury tool to have.
