Day 17 (June 16): We make it to Dome Lake from Del Norte! Our ride is marked by spectacular mountain scenery, storms, wildlife, wonderful humans and our first crash!
We ride through Rio Grande National Forest. We see a rattlesnake and some deer cross our paths.
We also have a moment of shock: Fred's rear brake suddenly doesn't work and he crashes on the downhill from Carnero Pass. His derailleur is bend and body scratched, but nothing more severe. With a little help form our GDMBR friends Fred, a tough cookie, is back on the bike and we roll on.
