Many think of light pollution as an aesthetic issue, not a serious environmental concern. Dark skies advocate and photographer Bettymaya Foott shows how disappearing darkness and starlight are causing or worsening many of our other problems, and offers practical suggestions for how each of us can contribute to solutions. Bettymaya Foott works for the International Dark-Sky Association as director of engagement. Preserving dark skies is her life goal, and she finds that astro-landscape photography is the most poignant way to express a love for the night and to educate about the impacts of light pollution.
