A renowned poet lyrics + a famous music publisher's popular song interpreted by a legendary pedagogue...From her home in Stony Brook, NY, #VirtualHeifetz2020 student Alexandra Woroniecka introduces the song behind the violin miniature "Sea-Shell." Originally composed by Franco-American composer (and later founder of G. Schirmer) Carl Engel to lyrics by pioneering American poet Amy Lowell, it was adapted for violin by Curtis Institute of Music president Efrem Zimablist Sr. in 1941. It's then performed by Alexandra and faculty pianist Esther Lim.
