PM Modi launches ₹50,000 Cr projects in Odisha | Flags Amrit Bharat Express | IMD rain alert

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday unveiled a series of development projects in Odisha worth over ₹50,000 crore. These initiatives cover vital sectors such as railways, telecommunications, healthcare, higher education, skill development, and rural housing, aiming to strengthen infrastructure and boost growth.

During his visit, PM Modi flagged off Odisha’s first Amrit Bharat Express, linking Berhampur with Udhna in Gujarat. The event also marked the inauguration of other railway projects, including a major five-kilometre flyover in Sambalpur, set to improve connectivity and ease regional travel.

Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted the formation of a fresh low-pressure area over the north-central Bay of Bengal around October 1. This system is likely to bring heavy rainfall to several districts of Odisha, raising concerns of potential weather disruptions.
