Quilting the Bicycles Bench Pillow Using Multiple Embroidery Quilting Methods May 21, 2025

Last August we started custom quilting the Kimberbell Hello Sunshine quilt using Design Center/IQ Designer. There were also several other projects available to make in addition to the quilt, so I made most of the others also.

In this class we will quilt the Bicycles Bench Pillow using all the quilting methods we have been learning in the quilt. First we will quilt the embroidered blocks using Design Center/IQ Designer. Then we will quilt the narrow border using a serpentine stitch on the sewing side of the machine. We will then quilt the larger borders using the Kimberbell Clear Blue Tiles. I will be using the Snowman feature on my Luminaire, but this feature goes all the way back to the Brother Quattro and Baby Lock Ellisimo, so many of you will have this handy centering feature on your machine. I will also describe the traditional hooping method using a plastic grid for those of you who do not have a machine with a camera. And finally, we will quilt the tumbler blocks using the Clear Blue Tile block method. A fun project with multiple embroidery quilting methods!
